Lea Michele Cosmo March Cover: Issue exposes skin, angers fans (Photo)

The March Cosmopolitan Magazine has ‘Glee’ star Lea Michele on the cover and once again fans are asking if this image is appropriate. After the last GQ Magazine controversy it appears that the audience of the show wasn’t taken too seriously or at least some people think so.
The March Cosmo has the star looking straight into the camera and ever so slightly playing with her hair. Letting the viewer check her out, the shirt is slit open down the front of her chest, covering far less than what most would appreciate, the Glee star is exposed.
The issue of this photo relates to the goodie two-shoes image of Rachel Berry on the series Glee. Since the actress plays a high school girl, the revealing is too revealing for some of the series watchers and especially a concern for those parents who allow their children to watch the show.
In retrospect, after checking out the photo, you might notice it isn’t as bad as the GQ photos and frankly it is on the cover of an adult readership magazine.

I'm baffled as to how it's too much skin showing. She's worn less on Glee. And seriously, it's mostly parents complaining about kids seeing the cover, but why are their kids reading Cosmo? If the parents don't like it, take the magazine away. And anyways, she only plays a high-schooler, but she's in her mid 20's.

Slow news day? Your headline is a gross exaggeration. How many parents exactly object to the cover? NUMBERS, PLEASE. "Angers Fans"??? Pul-lease. Another cheap trick for you to have people read your column. This is not true. Every message board that has discussed this Cosmo cover has supported Lea. You and the media are making a whole lotta somethin' outta nothin'. Write something intelligent instead of trying to grab onto the Glee bandwagon.

Also--WHAT PARENT allows their kid to look at Cosmo in the first place? It's an adult magazine, just like GQ. Enough of these silly, stupid articles about what ADULT cast member posed for what magazine.

I concur slow news day indeed.

If you're in line at the grocery store, your kid is going to see the cover. But, a good parent explains reality and fiction to their children. You don't "look up" to celebrities!

Oh goodness, she's a 24-year-old woman, not a high-school student! If some children watching Glee don't understand the difference between a show and real life, their parents have way more problems on their hands than exposure to open shirt.

So shes wearing a low cut shirt. Shes not naked. Get over it.

What PARENT would allow their kids to watch this show? They need to stick to disney. This show is aimed towards adults.

I like it. She is beautiful.
She doesn't play Rachel in real life. Get over it.

Can I just point out she was topless on stage in Spring Awakening years before Glee started? Everyone freaks out about Lea trying to shed her girlish image--but she's never had one.

exactly. and Rachel Berry is not a good girl either she has some flaws.

Angers fans?? Maybe the writer of this article has something personal against her because nobody else has commented that they do. She's a very talented woman!

    1. Parents probably shouldn't allow a child to watch Glee (as previously stated, it is aimed at adults).
    2. Parents shouldn't be allowing their child to read/look at a cosmo. Even on the cover half the time it says all kinds of stuff about sex .
    3. I dunno about everyone else but as a kid, I was more interested in looking at the impulse buy candy section, not the magazine covers.
    4. Lastly, and I don;t see anything wrong at all with what Lea is doing but, kids shouldn't look up to celebrities. even ones they think are around their age or something. Look at a lot of some of the most famous young women right now. How many of them are "stupid spoiled whores" ?? And if your kid was really interested in seeing provocative images in the first place (some of the articles on this topic mentioned a mother and her 13-year-old son), lady, the kid is going to see this stuff anywhere and everywhere. Maybe don't put him in a closet and shelter him from it. If you watch the show, as was claimed, 'Rachel' makes a point in an episode saying how there's nothing wrong with sex, and your bodies, It is what it is. She's covered up, but you can see some skin. People need to get over if. It's frickin' COSMO. GAWD.

In all honesty we come back to either the news creating a story out of slowness int he news OR the lack of effort parents want to put into raising said children. You fall into three cataorgies as a parent. One that actually pays attentions and monitors their children according to their views, one that complains to tv and magazine companies so they can pretend to be good parents instead of simply making sure their kids aren't watching or reading inappropriate things. And of course the parents that don't give a crap. Hey america, it isn't up the the industries to raise your kids!

Oh, please too much skin? If they go for a walk in the beatch they will see much more skin that this. What about the cheerleaders in the bikinis top? That was exactly the same. Also the tittle of the article should change. Its not the fans that are angry with this, we love Lea no matter what!

Fox news finds the most crack pot people who say that their kids are confused-my guess if they are this upset over that picture their kids have never seen the show. My guess is they caught their husbands staring at the picture

It strikes me that the full cover (not shown above) appears suspiciously "enhanced". I have seen comments stating Ms. Michele looks plastic: well enhanced photos tend to look that way. Doesn't anyone else think there is odd about appearance of the open shirt line (outside of being appalled by it)?
And..Andi I hope someone takes your comments to heart -- I enjoy Glee, but I would not allow my chidren to watch without at the very least watching with them (and only if they were teenagers), followed by conversations about the subject matter in the episode. I
The scarier thing about Glee is not the skin on a magazine known for its articles on sex as well as its air-brushed covers, but that it very much reflects the inner-workings of what high school life is like: including pregnant cheerleaders, couples that break up over petty jealousies, mean girls and boys who tease the outcast, weird kids, and the occassional apethetic teacher as well as (less anyone think I only dwell on the negative) friendships that develop over common causes, teachers that look to teach life lessons more than just lesson plans, and the joys of being a teenager.
